Jim was a great friend of mine during high school. We built stereo systems together and I was always impressed by his intellect. Jim had skipped two grades and was about two years younger than most of us in the class of 1961. I knew Jim and his first wife, Dinah until we moved from the bay area in 1970. Sorry that I lost contact thereafter. I'll always remember the good times we had..

Jim was an avid 49er and Giants fan and had season tickets to the Niner’s for several years in the early 1970’s. He remarried in the mid-Seventies to Vickie Shelton (Acalanes, class of 1968)

Jim discovered his love for the sea and sailing in the 1980’s. He and Vickie went to England in the mid-1980s, bought a 36’ sailboat, and the two of them sailed across the Atlantic from there without incident. Jim and Vickie remained on the east coast thereafter, living in Maryland and South Carolina.

Jim was predeceased by his father Malcolm (1975), and his brother Bill (2003) and a daughter Tracy.  He is survived by Vickie (South Carolina), son Tad (South Carolina); his mother Marion (Massachusetts); sisters Barbara (Washington), and Laurie Jaeckle (Massachusetts); and brother Richard (Walnut Creek).
