Kathy and I met when we were 13 in Mr. Osmund's 8th grade class at Stanley Jr. High. I was the 'new girl' and she kindly asked me to have lunch with her. We discovered I was one day older (which I never let her forget) and suddenly 65 years have gone by of wonderful friendship. Although she traveled far and wide - I stayed in California and she would come to visit. During my happiest and my darkest times she would be there.
She was a wonderful friend bestest friend - the kind you meet when you are 13 -and, although I last saw her in 2010, I talked with her often and it seemed as though we had just been together 'yesterday'. I knew, when I shared details of the reunion on the 25th, when her family had me on speaker phone and I could hear a slight laugh, it would be the last time. She passed on September 28 after a long and valient fight against Cancer. I know she is held in the embrace of the Angels now. Rest easy my dear friend I
