Gary Miller was born in Albany, California, to Robert and Cecelia (Skippy) Miller. He passed away on Nov. 27, 2022 from a cardiovascular event. He is survived by his sister, Karen Miller (Class of '60) Rossum (Dave) and nephew, Nick Rossum. 

Gary went to Lafayette Grammar School, MH Stanley Middle School and Acalanes High School, all in Lafayette, California. He graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1965 with a BS degree in Architectural Engineering. Gary served as a LTJG in the US Navy Civil Eng. Corps in Vietnam and the Philippines from 1966 to 1969.

From 1969 to 1970 he worked for Atlas Prestressing & Inryco in Denver.  Subsequently, he became a Principle of James And Miller, LTD. designing parking structures in California, notably the Broadway Plaza and the Kaiser Hospital garages in Walnut Creek, Doctor's Hospital in Modesto, the Shrine Auditorium in LA and the Children's Hospital in San Diego.  He was an avid cyclist and swimmer in his later years.

In a design class as a senior at Acalanes Gary designed the old triangle school sign. Later he also worked with the Acalanes Class of '61 Reunion Committee to create this website and it's content.
