Joe was a close friend from 7th grade until his passing February 2, 2011.
Upon graduation from Acalanes High School in the class of 1961 Joe went into the Air Force where her served for nine years. He married Nancy Selb (class of 1962) and they had two sons. After the Air Force he obtained his bachelors degree from Hayward State. He then went to work for the Federal Government (IRS) as an Internal Revenue Service Agent. After a few years he opened his own tax practice in Concord called "Joseph Pakin and Associates". Joe had the business for 30 years before his passing. He drove a red Corvette with a personalized license plate of "TAX GUN". Joe, Nancy, my wife Sherri, and I all went to the senior ball together and on to the Tonga Room at the Fairmont Hotel. I still remember the good times cruizing "the main" in Walnut Creek with Joe. He will be missed.
