In Memory

Henry C Ogden

Henry Ogden was my next door neighbor; he was crazy.  We got into a lot of trouble together back then.  It is a good thing there were not any police in Lafayette back then or who knows what would have happened.  I took track during my four years of high school and in my first year of track Henry broke every track record Acalanes had on the books.  Henry got kicked off the track team for smoking because good old Charlie Eaton didn’t like it that Henry smoked cigarettes.   We also went up to the Nortonville mines and got dead bats and hung them in our rooms to scare our mothers.  Henry was also involved with the high top 50’s coupes in the destruction derby races and he held the record for the fastest speed of 170 mph for a year at the Vacaville drag races.  Sometime after we graduated Henry moved to Oakland and met Sonny Baker and became a Hells Angel and I never heard from him ever again.  Would have liked to hear about his stories with the Hells Angels – does anyone have any?
